DESCRIPTION

Mina’s husband Babak was convicted and executed. A year after his execution, Mina learns that he was innocent. Reza appears in her life, claiming to be an old acquaintance of Babak’s and handing over a generous check as a debt he owed to her dead husband. Mina begins a court battle to win compensation for herself and her orphaned daughter, confronting a heartless system in which the law is equated with divine will. Mina – as a woman, and especially as a widow, moves around a strictly delineated, narrow patch of social space. She is kicked out of her apartment on the pretext of a moral violation because she let Reza, an unrelated man, into her home. What justice will she be able to win for herself and her daughter?
