DESCRIPTION
The career of the talented and creative, a really gifted John Belushi was unbelievably quick. His skits on Saturday Night Live brought him to the top of his popularity, and the characters created by Belushi and Dan Aykroyd were developed into the feature film “Blues Brothers”. Belushi was a comedian who entertained the entire United States but couldn’t find balance in his private life. Frustration combined with alcohol and drugs led to his death at just thirty-three years old. The director used audio tapes, recorded shortly after Belushi’s death, telling the story of a too-short life through the eyes of his loved ones, co-workers and friends.
DIRECTOR
R. J. Cutler (1962) is an American filmmaker, documentalist, television producer and theatre director. After his experiences as a theatre director in the early 1990s, Cutler went on to produce and direct documentaries, filming "The War Room" (1993), showing the world behind the scenes of Bill Clinton's presidential campaign. He has worked on a number of films and documentary series, dealing with political and social issues, and has directed a feature, the feature film "If I Stay" (2014).FILMOGRAPHY
