DESCRIPTION
An iconic figure of Polish cinema in monologues, archival and contemporary recordings, and conversations with the screenwriter Remigiusz Grzela. The film refers to Lewis Carroll’s “Alice on the Other Side of the Mirror”. Krafftówna’s monologue also alludes to the actress’s most famous role in Jerzy Has’s “The Art of Loving” (1963) and at the same time attempts to find an answer to this universal question. Barbara Krafftówna travels to the land of imagination. The outstanding actress is fully aware that imagination is on the one hand a powerful tool in the professional workshop. On the other hand, from the perspective of a ninety-two-year-old, her world, “the vast world I lived in” is already on the other side of the mirror.
DIRECTOR
Maciej Kowalewski (1969), Polish film and theatre director, actor, screenwriter, playwright. Graduate of the L. Solski Theatre School in Kraków. He debuted as a film director with a feature film based on his own screenplay, "Three Sisters T. ". He also works as a director and writer for films and TV series. He is an active theatrical creator, actor and director, and has written dozens of plays, many of which have been translated into English, Hungarian, Romanian, Russian, Bulgarian or Italian.Piotr Konstantinov (1981) graduate of the Historical Institute of the University of Warsaw. After graduation he worked his entire career in television (TVN, TV4, Polsat, TVP), where he worked his way up from editor, scriptwriter and series producer. He is also the originator of the famous and award-winning documentary "Silesian Business" for HBO Poland.
