DESCRIPTION

Alcohol is a culturally acceptable form of entertainment, celebration, relaxation. In the case of the four teachers, it also becomes the subject of an experiment – they decide to drink, but only during working hours and only enough to keep themselves constantly on a raucous high, strictly adhering to the half-promil blood content recommended by Norwegian psychiatrist Finn Skårderud to make up for the deficiency. Does alcohol combined with job burnout, crisis of masculinity and midlife crisis have a chance of success? Will the emotional baggage the characters carry enable them to maintain control of the experiment and what will be the outcome? Vinterberg himself dedicated the film to his late daughter Ida. “It’s not just a film about drinking. Our ambition was to make a film about living, ” said Vinterberg.

DIRECTOR
Thomas Vinterberg (1969), one of Denmark's most important, award-winning, and internationally celebrated directors. He made his feature debut with "The Biggest Heroes" (1996), after graduating from the National Film School of Denmark in 1993. Vinterberg got his international breakthrough in 1998 with "Festen"– the world's first Dogme 95-film, which received several international awards, including the Cannes Jury Prize. In 2012, Thomas Vinterberg won worldwide acclaim for this Oscar and Golden Globe-nominated drama "The Hunt" (2013), which also won Mads Mikkelsen the Award for Best Actor at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. "Another Round" (2020), middle-class and middle-age drama received many international awards and distinctions, including Oscar.
