DESCRIPTION

Yusuf and his best friend Memo attend a boarding school for Kurdish boys, secluded in the mountains of eastern Anatolia. Memo falls ill with a mysterious illness and Yusuf does his best to get help, confronting the adults’ downplaying of the problem, the bureaucratic machinery and when he finally manages to convince the adults and Memo is about to be taken to the hospital, the school is swamped by a snowstorm. “It’s a film about fear,” Karahan says. “I realized that controlling children is essentially controlling the future.

DIRECTOR
Ferit Karahan (1983), Turkish director and screenwriter. He’s living in Istanbul. Karahan started working as first assistant director on feature films. His short films have been screened at numerous festivals and have won awards and honorable mentions. His feature debut "The Fall From Heaven" premiered at the Antalya FF and won Best Film category. Also won Best first Film Prize at the Ankara FF and was later screened at more than 15 festivals and won several awards. He made "Eski Köye Yeni Adet" for FOX TV as TV Movie but FOX decided to release the film in the cinemas where it played more than month in 340 cinema around Turkey.
